Veta Romanenkova is a Belarusian-American knitwear designer known for her minimalist aesthetic, geometric textures, and refined work. Growing up in Minsk, Veta dreamed of becoming a fashion designer. She began her career in the fashion industry before transitioning into finance, a shift that added structure and precision to her creativity. Years later, that early passion was reborn; transformed by life’s journey.
After immigrating to the United States and embracing the dynamic life of a military spouse, Veta; who has lived across continents for over a decade; turned to knitting as both a comforting practice and a creative outlet. What began as a hobby soon evolved into a professional pursuit, blending her love of fashion with the knowledge she gained through her prior career.
With precision and a deep attention to detail, Veta is known for combining monochromatic palettes with geometric textures to create modern and timeless garments; pieces meant to be worn, cherished, and passed down. Her patterns are simple yet deeply comprehensive, characterized by mathematical clarity and accompanied by detailed diagrams.
A distinction of Veta’s work is her focus on creating gender-neutral designs, with particular attention given to men’s knitwear; a category she believes is unjustly underrepresented in the modern knitting industry. Through her work, she aims to elevate the presence of refined menswear in contemporary knitwear design.
With each collection, Veta brings thoughtful design to life; where simplicity meets sophistication, and every stitch tells a story of purpose, resilience, and quiet elegance.
Thank you for knitting along!
